According to the FDA, Key West Smoked Fish Co, doing business as Smilin’ Bob’s, a Summerland Key, Florida establishment, recalls an estimated 461 cases of Smilin’ Bob’s Key West Style Original Smoked Fish Dip products from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and/or mispackaging and consequential undeclared Egg. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fish Dip products identified above.

Smilin’ Bob’s initiated this recall because a limited amount of Smilin’ Bob’s Original Smoked Fish Dip was mistakenly packed in Smilin’ Bob’s Natural Smoked Fish Dip cups with a Original Smoked Fish Dip lid. The company discovered the issue when one of its retail customers brought to its attention that cups had a UPC code that did not match that for its Original Smoked Fish Dip.

As a result, the packaging does not list the presence of a possible Egg allergen. As a result, some people who have an extreme allergy or severe sensitivity to Egg could run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

==> For information about Egg Allergy, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Smilin’ Bob’s Key West Style Original Smoked Fish Dip and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. ==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
