US FlagUS/Washington: Evans Food Group Ltd., a Chicago, Illinois establishment, recalls an estimated 10,359 pounds of 7-Select, Cazo de Oro, Pamana and Turkey Creek branded Pork Pellet products from the American marketplace due to suspected failure to present for re-inspection during importation into the United States with consequential risks of bacterial or viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pork Pellet products are subject to this recall:

  • 7-Select 2.1-ounce Chili Lime Porkskin 6-count packages, sold with an item number of FGPS01575 and a batch/lot of 21274 14
  • 7-Select 2.1-ounce Chili Lime Porkskin 6-count packages, sold with an item number of FGPS01575 and a batch/lot of 21278 14
  • 7-Select 2.1-ounce Original Porkskin 6-count packages, sold with an item number of FGPS01601 and a batch/lot of 21274 13

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail and/or wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Pork Pellet products can be found on the Web site above.

These Pork Pellet products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Washington although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, Evans Food Group has recalled an estimated 10,359 pounds of Pork Pellet products from the American marketplace due to suspected failure to present for re-inspection during importation into the United States with consequential risks of bacterial or viral infection. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Pork Pellet products identified above.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 6030” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled 7-Select, Cazo de Oro, Pamana and Turkey Creek branded Pork Pellet products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial and/or viral poisonings.
