Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: VHT Perth Pty Ltd, a Northbridge, Western Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dao Xiang Cun Peanut Crisp Cookies from the Australian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Peanut Crisp Cookies are subject to this recall:

  • Dao Xiang Cun Peanut Crisp Cookies, sold in 145 gram boxes, a batch/lot code of 210501 and a best-before: 05-05-2022

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Peanut Crisp Cookies were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in VHT Perth Supermarket, Riverton Oriental Foods, Market City Gourmet Food and Little Star Asian Grocery, Cockburn Oriental Foods in the Australian states in Western Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, VHT Perth Pty Ltd has recalled certain batch/lots of Dao Xiang Cun Peanut Crisp Cookies from the Australian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Dao Xiang Cun Peanut Crisp Cookies and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
