Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Knoll Consultants & Investments Pty Ltd,, trading as ​​Barossa Fine Foods, a Edinburgh North, South Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Barossa Fine Foods Patés from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Barossa Fine Foods Patés are subject to this recall:

  • Duck and Walnut Paté, sold in 110 gram packages with a use-by date code of 20 NOV 21 and a barcode/APN of 9333278003932
  • Truffle Paté, sold in 110 gram packages with a use-by date code of 20 NOV 21 and a barcode/APN of 9333278003888
  • Duck Terrine Paté, sold in 110 gram packages with a use-by date code of 20 NOV 21 and a barcode/APN of 9333278003895
  • Farmhouse Paté, sold in 110 gram packages with a use-by date code of 20 NOV 21 and a barcode/APN of 9333278003901

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Barossa Fine Foods Patés were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian states of South Australia and Victoria although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Knoll Consultants & Investments Pty Ltd,, trading as ​​Barossa Fine Foods, has recalled certain batch/lots of Barossa Fine Foods Patés from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Paté products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Barossa Fine Foods Patés, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
