Additional information:

Among the ninety-three (93) recalls the NHTSA announced in September came news of the following:

Logo - Dorel Juvenile Group Dorel Juvenile Group (“Dorel”), a Columbus, Indiana establishment and a subsidiary of Dorel Industries Inc. of Montreal, Quebec, has recalled an estimated 4,000 Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Child Seats marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Child Seat – Potential head injury with Lap Belt use in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 213

NHTSA Safety Notification 21C004000 reports when the Seat is installed in the forward facing position and secured to the car using the Lap Belt without also using the Top Tether, the Seat may not adequately protect the child from head injury in the event of a crash. As such, these Child Car Seats fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”

According to the NHTSA, if the Seat is installed with only the lap Belt, the child has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
