Logo - Nissan North America, Inc.Nissan North America, Inc. (“Nissan”), a Franklin, Tennessee establishment and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company of Yokohama, Japan has recalled an estimated 3,030 model year 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Latches/Locks/Linkages – Secondary Hood Latch may detach in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 113

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V706000 reports insufficient welds may allow the Secondary Hood Latch Retainer Bracket to detach from the Front Bumper Assembly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 113, “Hood Latch System.”

According to the NHTSA, a detached Secondary Hood Latch may allow the Hood to open if the Primary Hood Latch is not engaged, obstructing the driver’s view and increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Logo - Nissan Pathfinder==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
