US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Happy Belly, Prince & Spring, Harris Teeter & HEB Cashews Recall [US]SunTree Snack Foods LLC, a Phoenix, Arizona establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Happy Belly, Harris Teeter, H-E-B and Prince & Spring branded Cashews due to suspected glass fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Happy Belly, Harris Teeter, H-E-B and Prince & Spring Cashew Nuts were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states and regions of Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, SunTree Snack Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Happy Belly, Harris Teeter, H-E-B and Prince & Spring branded Cashews due to suspected glass fragment contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cashew Nuts identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Happy Belly, Prince & Spring, Harris Teeter and H-E-B branded Cashew Nuts, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Nuts to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.
