Pegaz Toys branded Telephone Toys packaged with a model designation of CY1013-7C and a barcode/EAN of 5902385964791. This recall alert was submitted by Poland to the EU Safety Gateway.

These Pegaz Toys branded Baby Telephone products are marketed, sold and delivered as small children’s toys for use in the home or preschool environments. The Telephone Toys emit high-pitched sounds to simulate phone ringing to encourage a small child to “answer” them.

No manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Pegaz Toys branded Baby Telephone Toy products  include the reported finding that the sound level produced by the toy is too high (measured value: 86.1 dB). Sounds at these high levels can produce pain when made at or near the ears. In addition, there is a non-zero chance that infants and/or small children could experience partial or permanent hearing loss.

It is important to remember that hearing loss is cumulative with the effects only obvious in later years so it is especially important to reduce the chances of hearing damage to children.
