US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Drew’s Organics, LLC, a Chester, Vermont establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing from the American marketplace due to possible Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards/situations requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Salad Dressing products are subject to this recall:

  • Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing, sold in 12 fluid ounce, glass bottles with a best-if-used-by date of Feb 15 2023 and a UPC of #4099100023169

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Seed Dressing products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in US Aldi Stores located in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia between August 20, 2021 and September 10, 2021. This said, it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Drew’s Organics has recalled certain batch/lots of Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing from the American marketplace due to possible Clostridium botulinum contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dressing products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Salad Dressings to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Botulism.
