US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Seviroli Foods, Inc, a Bellmawr, New Jersey establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of H-E-B Jumbo Stuffed Shell Pasta from the American marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards/situations requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize suffering and prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Shell Pasta products are subject to this recall:

  • H-E-B Jumbo Stuffed Shell Pasta, packaged in 22-ounce vacuum-sealed bags, a batch/lot of 2 1208, a sell-by date of 07/27/22, an item number of 796702 and a UPC of 041220771110

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Shell Pasta products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Shell Pasta products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of Texas, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Seviroli Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of H-E-B Jumbo Stuffed Shell Pasta from the American marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Stuffed Pasta Shell products identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled H-E-B Jumbo Stuffed Shell Pasta, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Pasta to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction contamination.
