US FlagUS/Silver Spring: McKee Foods, a Collegedale, Tennessee establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Little Debbie Mini Nutty Buddy Cookie Bites Sandwich Cookies from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Pecan Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Sandwich Cookies are subject to this recall:

  • Little Debbie Mini Nutty Buddy Mini Cookie Bites Sandwich Cookies are sold in individual bags with a product weight of 2.5 ounces with a best-by dates of December 24 and December 25, 2021.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Little Debbie Mini Nutty Buddy Cookie Bites Sandwich Cookies were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, McKee Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Little Debbie Mini Nutty Buddy Cookie Bites Sandwich Cookies from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Pecan Nuts. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods identified above.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing pecans was included in packaging that did not reveal the presence of tree nuts.

It is currently thought the cities affected include the following:

  • In Kentucky: Jackson, Columbia, Somerset and surrounding areas
  • In North Carolina: High Point, Greensboro, Asheville, Clemmons and surrounding areas
  • In Tennessee: Sweetwater, Jackson, Piney Flats, Lebanon, Powell Crossroad, Knoxville, Maryville, Clarksville, Morristown, Crossville, Nashville, Collegedale and surrounding areas

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Little Debbie Mini Nutty Buddy Cookie Bites Sandwich Cookies and could be allergic to their Pecan Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
