Additional information:

Among the one-hundred-and-fourteen (114) recalls the NHTSA announced in August came news of the following:

Logo - Chrysler (FCA US LLC),Chrysler (FCA US LLC), an Auburn Hills, Michigan establishment and a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of Amsterdam, Netherlands has recalled an estimated 2,247 model year Mopar branded right and left-side Chrysler Crew Cab, Chrysler Quad Cab, Chrysler Mega Cab and Standard Cab Side Air Bag Inflatable Curtains (“SABICs”) marketed, sold and delivered as replacement parts in the United States.

Recall Category: Air Bags – Side Curtain Air Bag Inflator may rupture

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E074000 reports the SABIC Inflator End Cap may detach from the Inflator, or the Inflator Sidewall may rupture. Please see the part 573 report for a list of affected part numbers. the report is available here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCLRPT-21E074-2921.PDF.

According to the NHTSA, a separated Inflator End Cap or Air Bag Inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the End Cap or other components being propelled towards a person, or into a vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.
