US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Top Quality Dog Food, a Hyattsville, Maryland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Beef HVM Dog Food from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection and Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize suffering and prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dog Food products are subject to this recall:

  • Top Quality Dog Food Beef HVM, packaged in 1-pound vacuumed packages marked with a batch/lot of 071521 and sold on dates ranging from 7/27/21 to 8/2/21

Please consult the photograph above for details of the pet food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dog Food products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of CT, DC, DE, MD, PA, MA, SC and VA although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Top Quality Dog Food has recalled certain batch/lots of Beef HVM Dog Food from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dog Food identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pet Foods, please do not feed them to your pet(s). Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Wash down all prep surfaces, serving implements and serving bowls with a bleach/water mixture; rinse well with lots of hot soapy water.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis and/or Salmonellosis.
