Canada/Ottawa: Princess Auto Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of PS branded Homemade Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice BBQ Rub from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize suffering and prevent life-changing injury.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Barbecue Spice products are subject to this recall:

  • PS branded Homemade Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice BBQ Rub, sold in 184 gram (6.5 ounce) jars, a batch/lot of 2020-23333 or 2020-26941 and a UPC of 818808019755

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These PS branded Homemade Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice BBQ Rub are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Princess Auto has recalled certain batch/lots of PS branded Homemade Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice BBQ Rub from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled PS branded Homemade Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice BBQ Rub products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
