Among the one-hundred-and-nine (109) recalls the NHTSA announced in August comes news of the following:

Logo - Enerco Group, Inc.,Enerco Group, Inc., a Cleveland, Ohio establishment, has recalled an estimated 52,188 Enerco and Mr. Heater branded Propane Regulators with model numbers 73766 and 73836(G) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States. You can see the complete list here:

Recall Category: Equipment – LP Gas Pressure Regulator may fail

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E071000 reports the LP Regulator that controls the LP Gas Pressure may fail, allowing excessive gas pressure that causes the appliance flame to increase.

According to the NHTSA, excessive gas pressure and a larger than intended Appliance Flame can increase the risk of a fire, explosion, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.

Logo - Mr. Heater ==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Proposed Remedy:
Enerco will notify retailers, and replace the Propane Regulators with High Capacity Regulators, free of charge. Notification letters were expected to be mailed on August 27, 2021. Owners may contact Enerco Group Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-964-4328 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
