US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Loki Fish Company, a Seattle, Washington establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Keta Salmon Lox Fish from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize suffering and prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Smoked Fish products are subject to this recall:

  • Keta Salmon Lox Fish, packaged in four (4) ounce plastic packages mounted on coated food-grade cardboard with a UPC of 92103 00111

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Smoked Fish products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold through Cherry Sprout Produce in Portland, Oregon and Central Co-op and Pacific Coast Harvest in Seattle, Washington. They were also sold at the University District and West Seattle Farmers Markets in Washington although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Loki Fish Company has recalled certain batch/lots of Keta Salmon Lox Fish from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Smoked Fish products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Loki Fish Company Keta Salmon Lox Fish, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Keta Salmon Lox Fish to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
