Among the ninety-eight (98) recalls the NHTSA announced in July, came news of the following:

Logo - LasfitShenzhen Dianliangzhihui Tech Co. (“DianLiangzhihui Technology”), a Shenzhen, China establishment has recalled an estimate 4,357 aftermarket Lasfit A30-LAplusH11-NFBA LED Headlights sold through Amazon marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Exterior Lighting – Headlight Bulbs are too bright in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 108

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E062000 reports the Headlight Bulbs can create excessive glare or brightness to oncoming traffic. As such, these Bulbs fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

According to the NHTSA, excessive glare or brightness can decrease the visibility to oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Proposed Remedy:
DianLieangzhihui Technology will provide a full refund or replace the LED Bulbs with Halogen Bulbs, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Shenzhen Customer Service by e-mail at recall2021dl@163.com. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
