US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Frito-Lay North America, a Plano, Texas establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lay’s branded Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips from the American marketplace due to suspected incorrect packaging and consequential undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Lay’s branded Wavy Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips, sold in 7-3/4 ounce (219.7 gram) bags with a UPC of 0 28400 04380 9. There is additional Code Date and Manufacturing Code information available on the Web site listed above.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The recalled Lay’s Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Frito-Lay North America has recalled certain batch/lots of Lay’s branded Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips from the American marketplace due to suspected incorrect packaging and consequential undeclared Milk

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Lay’s branded Wavy Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
