Pinwheel Pineapple & Wellington Brewery Beer Recall

Canada/Ottawa: Wellington Brewery, a Guelph, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Pinwheel branded Pineapple Gose Beer and Wellington Brewery branded Mix Packs from the Canadian marketplace due to possible secondary fermentation and consequential exploding cans caused by increased Carbon Dioxide production with risks of inadvertent alcohol intoxication, eye damage and/or laceration, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Alcoholic Beer products are subject to this recall:

  • Pinwheel Pineapple branded Gose Beer, sold in 473 ml cans with a packaged on date of JUN/24/2021 and a UPC of 6 21433 07304 3
  • Wellington Brewery branded Mix Pack – Volume 10, sold in four (4) by 473 ml bottles with a batch/lot of 060321 and a UPC of 6 21433 03304 7

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Alcoholic Beer products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario although it is always possible these beverages had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Wellington Brewery has recalled certain batch/lots of Pinwheel branded Pineapple Gose Beer and Wellington Brewery branded Mix Packs from the Canadian marketplace due to possible secondary fermentation and consequential exploding cans. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Alcoholic Beer products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pinwheel branded Pineapple Gose Beer and/or Wellington Brewery branded Mix Packs, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
