US FlagUS/Washington: Serenade Foods, a Milford, Indiana establishment, recalls an estimated 59,251 pounds of Dutch Farms, Kirkwood and Milford Valley branded frozen, raw, breaded and pre-browned stuffed Chicken from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella Enteritidis contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all health and/or safety hazards, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following processed Chicken products were produced on February 24, 2021 and February 25, 2021 and are subject to this recall:

  • Dutch Farms branded Chicken with Broccoli & Cheese, sold in 5-ounce individually plastic-wrapped packages with a batch/lot code of BR 1055 and a best-if-used-by date code of FEB 24 2023
  • Kirkwood Raw branded Stuffed Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese, sold in 5-ounce individually plastic-wrapped packages with a batch/lot code of BR 1055 and and a best-if-used-by date code of FEB 24 2023
  • Kirkwood Raw branded Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu, sold in 5-ounce individually plastic-wrapped packages with a batch/lot code of CB 1056 and and a best-if-used-by date code of FEB 25 2023
  • Milford Valley branded Chicken with Broccoli & Cheese, sold in 5-ounce individually plastic-wrapped packages with a batch/lot code of BR 1055 and a best-if-used-by date code of FEB 24 2023
  • Milford Valley branded Chicken Cordon Bleu, sold in 10-ounce box of two individually plastic-wrapped packages with with a batch/lot code of CB 1055 and a best-if-used-by date code of FEB 24 2023

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Chicken products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Dutch Farms, Kirkwood and Milford Valley branded frozen, raw, breaded and pre-browned stuffed Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment number “P- 2375” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were known to be distributed nationwide in all US states although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled frozen, raw, breaded and pre-browned stuffed Chicken identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service (“FSIS”) has been working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) and public health partners to investigate a multi-state outbreak of 28 Salmonella Enteritidis illnesses in eight (8) states, with onset dates ranging from February 21, 2021 through June 28, 2021. Unopened intact packages of raw, frozen, breaded Chicken stuffed with broccoli and cheese were collected from an ill person’s home and tested positive for the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis. FSIS continues to work with the CDC and state and local public health partners on this investigation.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Dutch Farms, Milford Valley and Kirkwood branded frozen, raw, breaded and pre-browned stuffed Chicken, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
