Canada/Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”), an Ottawa, Ontario-based statutory regulatory and food safety authority, provides additional information concerning the sale and distribution of certain batch/lots of Cahill’s brand Original Irish Porter Cheese after finding some Cheese products have been repackaged and sold by various Canadian food retailers either clerk-served or in smaller, pre-cut packages with or without a Cahill’s label that may not bear the same brand and/or product name.
The original recall was initiated due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and/or safety hazards, requiring immediate medical intervention.
