UK FlagUK/London: E H Booths & Co. Ltd. (“Booths”), a Ribbleton, Preston, Lancashire establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Booths branded Spicy Vegetable Samosas from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and/or mispackaging with consequential undeclared Soya, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Samosa products are subject to recall:

  • Booths Spicy Vegetable Samosas, sold in 160-gram packages of four (4) Samosas with a use-by date of 6 August 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - E H Booths According to the FSA, Booths has recalled certain batch/lots of Booths Spicy Vegetable Samosas because they may contain Soya, an ingredient not declared on the label. Due to a packaging error, some packages of Vegetable Samosas actually contain Lamb Samosa, another food product sold by Booths. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Soya. Because the recalled Vegetable Samosas may also contain undeclared meat, this is a concern for those who avoid meat for health and/or religious reasons.

==> For information about Soya Allergy, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Booths branded Spicy Vegetable Samosas and could be allergic to their Soya ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
