US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Excalibur Seasoning, a Pekin, Illinois establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Haen Meats 1959 House Blend Seasoning products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Seasoning Spice products are subject to this recall:

  • Haen Meats 1959 House Blend, packaged in 6.5-ounce clear plastic shaker bottles with a batch/lot designation of 107-354 and a UPC of 729009768154

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Haen Meats 1959 House Blend Seasoning products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of Wisconsin although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Excalibur Seasoning has recalled certain batch/lots of Haen Meats 1959 House Blend Seasoning products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Seasoning products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Haen Meats 1959 House Seasoning Blend products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Seasoning products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
