US FlagUS/Washington: Top Notch Jerky LLC., a Sugar City, Idaho establishment, recalls an estimated 107 pounds of Kingmade Jerky branded Buffalo Style ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Beef Jerky products from the American marketplace due to suspected suspected mislabeling and consequential Anchovy Fish, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef Jerky products are subject to this recall:

  • Kingmade Jerky Buffalo Style ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Beef Jerky, packaged in 2.25-ounce plastic pouches with a best-by date code of JAN 13 2023 and a batch/Lot designation of 071221
  • Kingmade Jerky Buffalo Style ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Beef Jerky, packaged in 1.0-ounce plastic pouches with a best-by date code of JAN 13 2023 and a batch/Lot designation of 071221

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail / wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Beef Jerky can be found on the Web site above.

The recalled Beef Jerky products bear establishment number “EST. 20290” located on the back lower half of the pouch next to the best-by date. These items were produced for, shipped, and distributed to Professional Golfers’ Association (“PGA”) golf events in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Memphis, Tennessee. The items were made available to PGA tour athletes, trainers and staff. As of the date of this recall notification, it is thought that the recalled Beef Jerky products were not not made available to spectators or guests at the PGA events. In addition, the products are not available at any retail locations.

According to the USDA, Top Notch Jerky recalls an estimated 107 pounds of Kingmade Jerky branded Buffalo Style ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Beef Jerky products from the American marketplace. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dried Beef products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Kingmade Jerky branded Buffalo Style ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Beef Jerky products and could be allergic to their Anchovy Fish ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them.

PGA personnel should not serve the product to athletes, trainers or staffs and should throw the product out or return to the place of purchase.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
