US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Lipari Foods, a Warren, Michigan establishment, recalls an estimated 133 cases of Troyer Manufacturing Backroad Country Dried Apricots from the American marketplace due to undeclared Sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dried Apricot products are subject to this recall:

  • Troyer Manufacturing Backroad Country Dried Apricots, packaged in nine (9) ounce clear, plastic-film bags filled with orange-colored Dried Apricots that can be seen through the bag with a batch/lot code of 440021117 with an expiration dates of 07/2021, 11/2021 or 12/2021

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Backroad Country Dried Apricots were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Lipari Foods has recalled an estimated 133 cases of Troyer Manufacturing Backroad Country Dried Apricots from the American marketplace due to undeclared Sulfites.

This recall was initiated due to Florida’s Department of Agriculture performing an inspection. It was observed during the inspection that the Backroad Country Dried Apricots with the batch/lot code of 440021117 and expiration date of 12/2021 contained undeclared Sulfites.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Backroad Country Dried Apricots and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
