Canada/Ottawa: Lemond Food Corp., a Richmond Hill, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of HanSang branded Pork & Vegetable Gyoza Dumplings from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Coconut and Milk, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Frozen Pork Dumplings are subject to this recall:

  • HanSang branded Gyoza Dumplings – Pork & Vegetable sold in 680 gram packages with a date code of 04.06.2023 and a UPC of 7 61898 71329 7

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These HanSang branded Pork & Vegetable Gyoza Dumplings were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Lemond Food Corp. has recalled certain batch/lots of HanSang branded Pork Gyoza Dumplings from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Coconut and Milk. The problem was discovered during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) in-plant verification activities where FSIS discovered that the Coconut and Milk ingredients were not listed on the product labels.

==> For information about Milk Allergy or Lactose Intolerance and/or Nut Allergy (including Ground Nuts such as Peanuts and Tree Nuts such as Coconuts), please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled HanSang branded Frozen Pork Dumplings products and could be allergic to their Coconut and/or Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled HanSang branded Frozen Pork Dumplings, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
