Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: OB Designs Pty Ltd, a Byron Bay, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of OB Designs Wooden Rattle Baby Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with the size and shape requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice Number 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’, consequential component detachment and risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious safety hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Wooden Rattles are subject to this recall:

  • OB Designs Wooden Rattle Baby Toys, consisting of wooden rattle toys with silicone bead ring and made available in colours Sage, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Blush and Multi

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wooden Rattle Baby Toys are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states although it is always possible these baby rattles had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, OB Designs has recalled all current batch/lots of Wooden Rattle Baby Toys from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with the size and shape requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice Number 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled OB Designs Wooden Rattle Baby Toys, please do not your child play with or near the recalled Rattles identified above. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.
