US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., a New Brunswick, New Jersey establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of five (5) Neutrogena and Aveeno Aerosol Sunscreen product lines from the American marketplace due to suspected Benzene contamination, a consequential Carcinogen, a substance or agent known to cause or reasonably expected to cause Cancer, a serious health and safety hazard requiring intervention and/or treatment.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Aerosol Sunscreen products are subject to this recall:

  • Neutrogena Beach Defense Aerosol Sunscreen
  • Neutrogena Cool Dry Sport Aerosol Sunscreen
  • Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense Aerosol Sunscreen
  • Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Aerosol Sunscreen
  • Aveeno Protect + Refresh Aerosol Sunscreen

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Sunscreen products’ design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Aerosol Sunscreen products are thought to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states although it is always possible these Sunscreen products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. has recalled all current batch/lots of five (5) Neutrogena and Aveeno Aerosol Sunscreen product lines from the American marketplace due to suspected Benzene contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sunscreen products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled batch/lots of five (5) Neutrogena and Aveeno Aerosol Sunscreen product lines, please do not use them. Instead, return the Sunscreen products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
