US FlagUS/Washington: Canyon Furniture Company, a Seffner, Florida establishment, recalls an estimated 1,200 Creekside Children’s Dresser Chests of Drawers from the American marketplace and sold at Rooms To Go due to suspected tip-over and entrapment with consequential risks of falls, laceration, crush, concussion, bone fractures, central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Creekside Kids Five-Drawer Dresser Chests, produced in charcoal and chestnut colors.

  • Creekside Kids Five-Drawer Dresser Chests, each measuring approximately 43.5 inches tall, 31.5 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The brand, “Canyon Furniture Co,”, a SKU number of 34595035 (for the Charcoal-colored model) or 34495045 (for the Chestnut-colored model), and the manufacture date (written as “Prod. Date”) in month/day/year format as MM/DD/YY can be found printed on a label on the back of each unit. The recalled Dresser Chests were manufactured in Mexico between April 2020 and March 2021 and marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Chests are reportedly unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or serious injuries to children. The Chests do not comply with the performance requirements of the voluntary industry standard ASTM F2057-19 and consequentially pose serious risks that to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.
