US FlagUS/Washington: One World Technologies Inc, doing business as Techtronic Industries Power Equipment (“TTI”), an Anderson, South Carolina establishment, recalls an estimated 3,700 ECHO branded EGi-2300 Watt Power Generators from the American marketplace due to suspected overheating and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain ECHO EGi-2300 Watt Power Generators with a model number of EGi-2300 and a serial number between EU19483D010001 through EU21021N010180 marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • ECHO EGi-2300 Watt Power Generators, sold with a model number of EGi-2300 and a serial number between EU19483D010001 through EU21021N010180. The model and serial number can be found printed on the Data Label on the bottom left hand of the side panel. Each Generators is orange and black with the brand, “ECHO” and the model designation “EGi-2300” printed on the side.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Echo EGi-2300 Watt Power Generators can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Power Generators can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use. Echo has received four (4) reports of the Generators overheating or catching fire. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled ECHO EGi-2300 Watt Power Generators, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Echo for instructions on how to obtain a free repair. Echo is also contacting all known (i.e., registered) purchasers directly.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly burns, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory collapse.
