Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Plum Australia recalls certain batch/lots of Plum Silicone Baby Soothers from the Australian marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baby Soother products are subject to this recall:

  • Plum Silicone Soothers, sold in a range of colours and sizes that range from NB-6m (newborn to six months) and 6-18m

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Baby Soother products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in Baby Bunting stores in the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia although it is always possible these baby products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Plum Australia has recalled certain batch/lots of Plum Silicone Baby Soothers from the Australian marketplace due to suspected component detachment. Specifically, the product may have been damaged by its packaging, and the teat may break off the shield. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.

As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled Plum Silicone Baby Soothers identified above.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and/or bowel obstruction.
