According to the CPSC, this recall was initiated because the products contain the chemicals Potassium Hydroxide or Sodium Hydroxide, two substances that must be sold, stored and dispensed in child resistant packaging as required by the US Poison Prevention Packaging Act (“PPPA”). The packaging of these products, however, is not child resistant, thus posing a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin, eyes, throat and GI tract, if swallowed, inhaled or placed on the skin. In addition, the label on these chemical products violates the US Federal Hazardous Substance Act (“FHSA”) by omitting the word “POISON” and other mandatory warning information on the packaging.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pro Supply Outlet branded Sodium Potassium and/or Pro Supply Outlet branded Sodium Hydroxide, please do not use them. Instead, kindly store the chemicals in a safe location out of sight and reach of children, preferable under lock and key, and contact Pro Supply Outlet for free replacement child resistant packaging and as well as new warning labels. All known purchasers are being contacted directly by the company.

Please note: Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect the drinking water supply and the ecosystem.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction, developmental delays and/or long-term damage, reproductive delays and/or possible long-term damage, genetoxicity and mutagenicity.
