Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Save-On-Foods LP, a Langley, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dole branded Fresh Packed Blueberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Cyclospora parasite contamination and consequential risks of Cyclosporiasis infection, severe parasitical illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fresh Blueberries are subject to this recall:

  • Dole branded Fresh Packed Blueberries, sold in 170 gram plastic clamshells with a UPC of 0 71430 01150 8 and one of the following batch/lot codes:
    • 14632
    • 15032
    • 15046
    • 15646
    • 15648
  • Dole branded Fresh Packed Blueberries, sold in 170 gram plastic clamshells with a UPC of 0 71430 01154 6 and one of the following batch/lot codes:
    • 14632
    • 14732
    • 15032
    • 15046
    • 15232
    • 15446
    • 15432
    • 15646
    • 15648
  • Dole branded Fresh Packed Blueberries, sold in one (1) pint plastic clamshells with a UPC of 0 71430 01151 5 and one of the following batch/lot codes:
    • 15032
    • 15046
    • 15132
    • 15148
    • 15146
    • 15232
    • 15332
    • 15646
    • 15648

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dole Fresh Blueberries were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces or territories of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Yukon although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

In addition, these foods products have been recalled in US states of Illinois, Maine, New York and Wisconsin by Dole Diversified North America under a separate Living Safely recall notification available here: https://wp.me/p2bVty-ida.

According to the FDA, Save-On-Foods LP has recalled certain batch/lots of Dole branded Fresh Packed Blueberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Cyclospora parasite contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dole Fresh Blueberries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dole Fresh Blueberries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Blueberries to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat parasitic poisonings such as Cyclosporiasis.
