US FlagCanada FlagUS/Silver Spring: Dole Diversified North America, Inc., a West Winter Haven, Florida establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dole branded Fresh Blueberries from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected Cyclospora parasite contamination and consequential risks of Cyclosporiasis infection, severe parasitical illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Fresh Blueberries are subject to this recall:

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dole Fresh Blueberries were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Illinois, Maine, New York and Wisconsin as well as two Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Dole Diversified North America has recalled certain batch/lots of Dole branded Fresh Blueberries from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected Cyclospora parasite contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dole Fresh Blueberries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dole Fresh Blueberries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Blueberries to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat parasitic poisonings such as Cyclosporiasis.
