According to Health Canada, it has determined that the Xing da Toy Oval Magnets do not meet the magnetic force requirements of Canada’s Toys Regulations and pose a consequential ingestion hazard. It is thought the recalled Magnet Toys were sold up to and including December 2019 although similar products may still be on sale by other brick and mortar stores as well as by other online retailers throughout Canada.

If a child swallows more than one small high powered Magnet, components of these Toys can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These Magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Further, the magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children due to small parts. Even post ingestion, survivors can have long-term health consequences requiring medical care and rehabilitation.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Xing da Toy Oval Magnet Toys, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly ensure that all pieces are accounted for and contact your local municipality for instructions on how to dispose of or recycle thsee products. You can also contact the retailer where you purchased the Magnet Toys for a refund.

Disposal of this product must be in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. Please consult your local municipal waste authority for the correct steps for your particular community.
