Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: DJ&A Pty Ltd., a Botany, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Back to Basics Green Curry Kale Chips from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Cashew Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Kale Chips are subject to this recall:

  • Back to Basics branded Green Curry Kale Chips, sold in 60 gram foil lined pillow bags with best-before dates of 14/02/2022, 15/02/2022 or 30/03/2022, batch/lot codes of L21110, L21111 or L21154 and an APN/barcode of 9 345544 007131

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Green Curry Kale Chips were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in ALDI stores in the Australian states of Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, DJ&A Pty Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Back to Basics Green Curry Kale Chips from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Cashew Nuts.

==> For information about Nut Allergy (including Peanuts and Tree Nuts such as Cashews), please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Back to Basics Green Curry Kale Chips and could be allergic to their Cashew Nuts ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
