US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Banner Smoked Fish, Inc., a Brooklyn, New York establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of various Smoked Fish products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

==> No UPCs, barcodes, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Smoked Fish products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of AZ, CA, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, NC, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, SC, VA and WI, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, the recalled products were reportedly found to be processed under unsanitary conditions. The problem was discovered through FDA routine inspection. As of press time, no illnesses had been reported to the FDA.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Smoked Fish products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Fish to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial such as Listeriosis.
