UK FlagUK/London: PepsiCo International, a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Off The Eaten Path branded Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to recall:

  • PepsiCo Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips, sold in 120 gram stand-up sacks with a Batch/lot code of 21098 and a Best before date of 11 September 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, PepsiCo has recalled certain batch/lots of Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips as a packaging error may have occurred. Specifically, some of the packages of Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips actually contain the company’s Rice & Pea chips flavoured with Thai Chilli & Lime seasoning containing Milk not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Milk Constituents.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled PepsiCo Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
