Ingenious Designs LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Home Shopping Network, a Ronkonkoma, New York establishment recalls an estimated total 5,414,300 of Joy/JM branded My Little Steamers and My Little Steamer branded Go Mini Handheld Clothing Steamers (approximately 5,400,000 in the US and approximately 14,300 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to sudden and unexpected release of hot water and/pr steam and consequential risks of burns, scalds and other life-changing injuries as well as property damage. Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Joy/JM branded My Little Steamer and My Little Steamer Go Mini Handheld Clothing Steamers.

  • The recalled Joy/JM branded My Little Steamer and My Little Steamer Go Mini Handheld Clothing Steamers are handheld, consumer-grade electrical appliances (120 volt, 60 Hz, 900 watts), that use hot steam, emitted from a nozzle head concentrator designed to remove wrinkles from garments and other fabrics.

The recalled Steamers were sold in two sizes: the standard (or “deluxe”) full-size My Little Steamer and the compact-size My Little Steamer Go Mini models. The Steamers were sold individually or in combination sets in a variety of colors, including black, white, red, purple and teal. The recalled Steamer models have either a flat or triangular steamer head as well as the name of the product is printed on the side of the unit.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Handheld Clothing Steamers can expel, spray and/or leak hot water during use. If this defect occurs, it poses risks of burns, scalds and other life-changing injuries. HSN has received 227 reports of hot water spraying or leaking from the Steamers, including 106 reports of burn injuries. These reports include eight (8) reports of second-degree burns and six (6) reports of third-degree burns. In Canada, the company has received one (1) report of injury.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Joy/JM branded My Little Steamers and My Little Steamer branded Go Mini Handheld Clothing Steamers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly please contact Home Shopping Network (“HSN”) for information about how to receive a full refund for units purchased from January 2018 to December 2020, a partial refund for units purchased from January 2015 to December 2017, or a voucher for units purchased before January 2015.
