Among the eighty-six (86) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - Nissan North America, Inc.Nissan North America, Inc. (“Nissan”), a Franklin, Tennessee establishment and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company of Yokohama, Japan has recalled an estimated 24,140 model year 2020-2021 Nissan Armada and 2020-2021 and Infiniti QX80 Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) equipped with V8 engines marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Gasoline – Fuel Pump Module can fail and cause a stall

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V373000 reports the Impeller can swell and bind within the Fuel Pump Module, causing it to fail.

According to the NHTSA, Fuel Pump failure can cause an Engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

Logo - Infiniti==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Authorized dealers will replace the Fuel Pump Module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 20, 2021.

Nissan’s designation for this recall is R21A2.
