Among the seventy-four (74) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus, LLCSpartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus, LLC, a Roebuck, South Carolina establishment, has recalled an estimated 1,447 model year 2017-2020 Gladiator and MetroStar Fire Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Diesel – High Pressure Fuel Rail Assembly may leak fuel

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V323000 reports the Sealing Washer may not seat correctly in the Pilot Bore Holes, allowing the High Pressure Fuel Rail Assembly to leak.

According to the NHTSA, a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire, explosion, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
