These Toy Magnet Sets are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces although it is always possible these toys had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to Health Canada, its sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled Magnet Sets do not meet the magnetic force requirements as specified in Canada’s Toys Regulations and therefore, pose an ingestion hazard.

The results of swallowing small powerful magnets can be very serious and life-threatening. Swallowing incidents have often resulted in considerable damage to the gastrointestinal tissues and required emergency surgical treatment. For survivors, there can be long-term health consequences.

Specifically, if a child swallows more than one small high powered Magnet, components of these Toys can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These Magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Further, the magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children due to small parts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Toysmith Toy Science Magnet Sets, please do not use them nor let your child play with them or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
