Among the fifty (50) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - Ducati North AmericaDucati North America (“Ducati”), a Mountain View, California establishment and subsidiary of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. of Bologna, Italy., itself a subsidiary of Audi through its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini, with Audi itself owned by the Volkswagen Group, has recalled an estimated 5,909 model year 2017-2020 Ducati Monster Ducati 797, Ducati Monster 1200, Ducati Supersport, 2016-2020 Ducati XDiavel, and 2018-2020 Ducati Monster 821 Motorcycles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Air may reduce effectiveness of Rear Brakes

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V315000 reports that Air may permeate the vehicle’s Rear Brake System.

According to the NHTSA, Air in the system may reduce effectiveness of the Rear Brakes, increasing the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Dealers will install new Rear Brake Hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 17, 2021. Owners may contact Ducati Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-391-5446 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) for more information. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
