Among the forty-two (42) recalls the NHTSA has announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - Hyundai Motor AmericaHyundai Motor America (“Hyundai”), a Fountain Valley, California establishment and a subsidiary of Hyundai Motors of Seoul, South Korea, has recalled an estimated 151,205 model year 2013-2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Service Brakes, Hydraulic – Anti-Lock Brake System Module may short

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V303000 reports Brake Fluid may leak inside the Anti-lock Brake System (“ABS”) module, possibly resulting in an electrical short.

According to the NHTSA, an electrical short in the ABS module can increase the risk of an Engine Compartment fire, explosion, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results while the vehicle is either parked or driving.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Dealers will replace the ABS multi-fuse, and inspect and replace the ABS Module, as necessary, free of charge. Owners are advised to park outside and away from their home, garage or other structures as a precaution until the recall repair is complete. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 25, 2021. Note: This recall includes all vehicles previously recalled under NHTSA recall number 20V-520.
