US FlagUS/Silver Spring: The Hershey Company (“Hershey”), a Hershey, Pennsylvania establishment, recalls an estimated 1,700 bottles of Hershey’s Chocolate Shell Topping products from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Almond Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Syrup Topping products are subject to this recall:

  • Hershey’s Chocolate Shell Topping, a processed food product marketed, sold, and delivered on dates ranging from April 15, 2021 and May 3, 2021 in a 7.25-ounce (205 gram) squeeze bottles with a production code of 25JSAS1 and a partial UPC of 346000

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Syrup Topping products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No best-before date codes, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Chocolate Syrup Topping products all thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all US states although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, The Hershey Company has recalled an estimated 1,700 bottles of Hershey’s Chocolate Shell Topping products from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Almond Nuts. The company reports the recalled bottles were incorrectly filled with Heath Shell Topping, a confectionery product made with Almond Nuts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chocolate Shell Topping products and could be allergic to their Almond Nuts ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
