Among the eighty-four (84) recalls the NHTSA announced this month, comes news of the following:

Logo - Navistar International CorporationNavistar International Corporation (formerly International Harvester Company) (“Navistar”), a Lisle, Illinois establishment, has recalled an estimated 10,038 model year 2019-2021 International LT and International RH Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Engine – Engine Wrist Pin Bushing may fail

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V281000 reports the Wrist Pin may crack and cause Connecting Rod failure in the recalled International LT and International RH Trucks..

According to the NHTSA, Connecting Rod failure may cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Coronavirus Tips___________________________________________________________

Navistar will notify registered owners and dealers will install a Detection System Software to warn the driver prior to Engine Connecting Rod failure and engines with a defective Connecting Rod will be repaired, free of charge. Vehicles previously repaired under NHTSA Recall 20V255 that received only a software update will need to return to the dealer for the new remedy.

Owner notifications are expected to be mailed on July 8, 2021. Owners may contact Navistar Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-448-7825 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Central Standard Time (“CST”) for more information. Navistar’s designation for this recall is 21505.
