US FlagUS/Washington: Amazon.com, a Seattle, Washington establishment on behalf on its reseller, Battop, recalls an estimated 5,000 Battop branded Foldable Infant Bath Seats from the American marketplace due to suspected failure meet the Federal Safety Standard for infant bath seats, including requirements for stability, and can tip over while in use, posing a drowning hazard to babies.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Battop branded Foldable Infant Bath Seats marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • The Foldable Infant Bath Seats are plastic and have white seats with blue, green or gray restraint bars and have four (4) white suction cups on the bottom. A model number designation of BB2206 can be found on the sticker on the back of the Bath Seats with the following statement, “Advertisement – Warning NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED”. The product packaging includes the following information: “Battop Foldable Bath Seat, Model: BB2206, Manufacturer: Dongguan Babycare Products Co., Ltd., Made in China.”

==> No barcodes, UPCs, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled US Bath Seats fail to meet the federal safety standard for infant bath seats, including requirements for stability, and can tip over while in use, posing a drowning hazard to babies whose parents or caregivers utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Infant Bath Seats, please do not use them to bathe your child or any other function. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly drowning, asphyxia and/or respiratory collapse.
