Canada/Ottawa: George Weston Limited, doing business as Weston Foods, a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Annette’s Powdered Mini Donuts from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Powdered Mini Donut products are subject to this recall:

  • Annette’s Powdered Mini Donuts, sold in 298 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 0184 and a UPC of 0 59327 15196 4

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Annette’s Powdered Mini Donuts were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Weston Foods recalls certain batch/lots of Annette’s Powdered Mini Donuts from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Peanuts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Powdered Mini Donuts and could be allergic to their Peanuts ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
