Canada/Ottawa: Nestlé Canada Inc., a North York, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Nestlé branded Drumstick Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones and Nestlé branded Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Frozen Non-Dairy Desserts are subject to this recall:

  • Nestlé branded Drumstick Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones, marketed, sold and delivered in four (4) by 120 mL unit cardboard boxes with a UPC of 0 55000 38383 7
  • Nestlé branded Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones, marketed, sold and delivered in four (4) by 120 mL unit cardboard boxes with a UPC of 0 55000 38384 4

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Frozen Dessert Cones can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Frozen Dessert Cones were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Nestlé Canada has recalled certain batch/lots of Nestlé brand Drumstick Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones and Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Nestlé branded Drumstick Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones and/or Nestlé branded Drumstick Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Cones from the Canadian marketplace due to undeclared Milk and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
