Among the forty-two (42) recalls the NHTSA announced this month, comes news of the following:

Beamtech LED Headlight Bulb Recall [US]

Guangzhou Lengzhilu Trading Co., Ltd. (operating as “Beamtech”), a Guangyuan West, Guangzhou establishment, has recalled an estimated 26,199 Beamtech branded CO18-73964, CO18-711886, CO18-76373, CO18-71778, CO18-73065, CO18-74931, CO18-77879, and CO18-71212 LED Headlight Bulbs sizes 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007 and 9012 marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Exterior Lighting – Headlight Bulbs may be too bright in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 108

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E022000 reports the recalled LED Headlight Bulbs can create excessive glare or brightness. As such, these Bulbs fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”.

According to the NHTSA, excessive glare or brightness can reduce the vision of oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Beamtech will notify registered owners, and distributors and will provide a replacement Halogen Bulb, free of charge. The recall was expected to begin April 8, 2021. Owners may contact Beamtech Customer Service at 1-591-846-8806 for more information. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
